Our number one priority is the safety of our participants and counselors so we appreciate your adherence to the policies set forth below.
Drop-Off/Pick-Up Participants may be dropped off beginning at 8:50AM at the Beach House at Silvershell Beach (1 Front Street, Marion, MA 02738). Early Drop-Off begins at 8:00AM for $5.00/day per child. Each participant MUST be signed-in and signed-out by a parent/guardian or designee. You MUST contact me or Stacey if someone not listed on your registration form is dropping off or picking up you child. All parents and authorized pick-ups must present an ID to the staff so we may verify your information. Pick-Up will occur at the same location beginning at 4:00PM.Late pick-up is also available up until 5:00PM for an additional fee of $5.00/day per child.
Half-Day Participants You MUST notify us prior to the beginning of the week if a participants is attending for half-days or will be arriving late or leaving early so we may ensure proper staff coverage so we may ensure proper coverage of Counselors. Participants will also need to be signed-in and signed-out as listed above.
Food and Lunch
Participants should bring a lunch daily, with an optional snack. Refrigeration is not available to participants of the program. All attendees will take a lunch break during the day. If you child has any severe food allergies (peanut butter etc.) please notify us if it is not listed on your registration form so we can assure your child has a safe eating environment. Small snacks are available to purchase at the Silvershell Beach House. Food items include, hot dogs, chicken nuggets, slushies, ice cream items, crackers etc.
Staying Cool and Safe
Participants should wear comfortable clothing and footwear throughout the week and also bring a bathing suit. ALL participants should apply sunblock prior to coming to the beach and pack a spray-able bottle of sunscreen. Counselors will schedule mandatory sunscreen and water/snack breaks throughout the day to ensure that all participants stay protected and cool.
Inclement Weather Policy In terms of inclement weather, Marion Recreation will normally make a call in the morning regarding where to hold it's program. If the location is changed you will be notified by email and it will be posted on our official Facebook account. Our inclement weather location is Sippican School (16 Spring Street, Marion, MA 02738). If the program begins at Silvershell Beach and Inclement weather develops during the day, participants will be bused to Sippican School for their safety and protection. In the event this occurs you will receive notification via email and Facebook or via the REMIND app (see below).
Communicating with Staff New this year, we will use the REMIND APP to notify you of any changes in program content, if we move to another location, or if we are running late from one of our field trips. Payment and Registration Payment or a payment arrangement MUST be made prior to the start of your participants first week. Failure to make a payment agreement with Marion Recreation may result in your child being un-enrolled from the program. You may also purchase or register for additional weeks. If you would like to register for an additional week please email us or speak to our Summer Program Director Stacey Perry.

Marion Recreation appoints summer program director for 2017!
Marion Recreation has announced the appointment of a new summer program director for the 2017 season. Stacey Soucy Perry will use her years of school and camp experience to offer summer program opportunities to tri-town residents. Perry has more than 20 years of experience working with children. She served as an at-risk youth programs coordinator for Palm Beach County Parks and Recreation Department in Florida.After earning her master’s degree in elementary education, she began her teaching career at Coral Reef Elementary. In 1997, she returned to Massachusetts and became the enrichment teacher at Sippican School. She is currently the vice principal of West Elementary in Plymouth.
When asked what she is most looking forward to this summer, Perry said, “I’m really excited to get to work with the tri-town families again. I want parents to feel comfortable that their children will be safe and cared for while having a blast at the Silvershell Summer Program.”
Perry will be responsible for the day to day operations of the Marion Summer at Silvershell program, coordinating activities for program participants, supervising staff and organizing weekly field trips to area fun spots.
